A Facebook page parents can trust

Social media posts on motherhood and parenting are prolific, and at times down-right irresponsible. The conflicting, hard-line nature of parenting information can catapult vulnerable new mums into the depths of self-doubt. The Antenatal & Postnatal Psychology Network hosts a community Facebook page to combat much of the misinformation on social media. Our posts are judiciously selected by Dr Renée Miller (Principal Clinical Psychologist) who shares tips and articles on pregnancy, the postnatal period, and early parenting. Our Facebook page focusses on the emotional health of parents, babies and young children. We are delighted to report that we now have 3000 followers.

Along with expectant parents, new parents, and parents of toddlers and young children, we have midwives, maternal & child health nurses, doctors, obstetricians, psychologists and several other perinatal health practitioners following our page.

Our aim is to provide sound and supportive information related to childbearing and parenting. Dr Renée Miller only selects and shares posts that have an evidence-base or that are psychologically astute and emotionally nourishing. A little humour and some heart-warming stories are shared too.

Topics covered include:
- pregnancy and postnatal depression, anxiety & stress
