Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) is Australia’s national, not for profit peak body dedicated to supporting women and their families to achieve strong and enduring mental health during pregnancy and the year following birth. This includes informing and supporting the implementation of best practice through the development of the 2017 Australian National Perinatal Mental Health Guideline and free, online accredited training program and resources for health professionals. COPE also empowers women with timely, relevant information throughout pregnancy and early parenthood through their Ready to COPE Guide. COPE is also focused upon transforming current approaches to screening and referral through innovative digital screening platforms.

PANDA - Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia supports women, men and families across Australia to recover from post and antenatal depression and anxiety. Providing the only National Helpline dedicated to perinatal mental health, PANDA is driven by the lived experience of people affected by perinatal anxiety and depression. PANDA responds to the needs of families across Australia, from major cities to rural and remote areas. Helpline peer support workers and professional counselling staff offer phone support, information, counselling and referral to mothers, fathers, family and friends. PANDA also provides secondary consultation to health professionals.

Sands is a not-for-profit organisation supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby either before or shortly after birth, whether through miscarriage, medically-advised termination, stillbirth or newborn death. Sands provides support, information and education to bereaved families across Australia. Services include a 24/7 National Support Line, email and Live Chat online support as well as local face-to-face support groups. Sands also offers ongoing professional support, education and training opportunities for health professionals to ensure bereaved parents are provided with best practice bereavement care.

Red Nose is a national charity providing free evidence-based safe sleeping education and intake to bereavement support services to health professionals across Australia. Free bereavement support, including counselling and a 24-hr support line is available to anyone impacted by the death of a baby or child. This includes counselling, a 24-7 support line, support groups and printed resources. Treasured babies packs are also available for families who have suffered stillbirth.

The Pink Elephants Support Network is a charity created to support, nurture and empower couples through miscarriage and infertility. They provide validation, connection and support through online support groups and emotional support literature in the form of resources which can be downloaded from www.pinkelephantssupport.com. They also run a personalised peer support system whereby they connect women who have been through loss with women who are experiencing miscarriage.

The Caring Mums program is a group of volunteer (older mums) who provide emotional support to pregnant women and mothers of new babies for up to 12 months. The service supports mothers who may feel anxious, isolated or lack confidence in their new parenting role.
Caring Mums believes that “No woman should be alone on her journey of Motherhood”.
