All children struggle at times which can be stressful for parents, for the child and for the family as a whole. Parents can feel lost in knowing what to do.
With children's limited capacities to understand and communicate their feelings, their difficulties often manifest in challenging behaviours (see list below), leaving parents unsure of what is actually going on.
All of our psychologists are trained in Circle of Security parenting, and we assist parents in their parenting. However, some children and families need to work together with specially trained psychologists who work with babies and children under 5 years of age.
The Littlies Clinic is a professional collaboration of these psychologists whose area of special interest is in working with young children (babies to 5 year olds) alongside their parents.
Their work with children and parents together in the room, provides a way of exploring and understanding what might be underlying the child and family's difficulties.
The aim of the Littlies Clinic is to help children and their parents understand and navigate difficult feelings and experiences. Parents learn ways of parenting that support the child's optimal development, and ultimately help families function in healthier ways.
