Pregnancy Pearls is a series of supportive reminders to help women with some of the stressful aspects of pregnancy and childbirth.
Clinical psychologist, Dr Renée Miller, says “there is so much information on the physical management of pregnancy and childbirth, but our articles and memes are designed to address the psychological aspects”. Based on principles of Mindfulness and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and over 20 years working with pregnant and postnatal women, Renée has distilled some of the simple reminders that women find useful to integrate into their self-care during pregnancy, and into their psychological preparation for birth. These memes do not replace individualized therapy which involves addressing women’s particular concerns (eg., extreme fear of childbirth) and disturbances of mood (e.g., anxiety, depression). |
Parenting Pearls is a series of memes that include simple, supportive statements for new parents. These memes have been compiled by Dr Renée Miller (Principal Clinical Psychologist) based on her experience working with new mums. These memes are brief, quick-to-read reminders that focus on being present in the moment, and being self-compassionate in the often highly charged, judgement-laden environment of parenting.
These memes do not replace individualised therapy for women who are struggling beyond having a challenging day here and there. |
